Question: Hi. Have had various symptoms for over 20 yrs in desperation have been seeing a chiropractor for few months he suspects a chiari malformation. I smoke other than the obvious other health risk with smoking can this affect the chiari malformation. Have headache constantly vision problems tinnitus neck pain weak right side. Get confused

First of all, let me reassure you that smoking does not affect Chiari malformation. However, looking at other health hazards of smoking, you may want to reduce or quit it.

For suspected Chiari malformation, you may get MRI Cranio-Vertebral junction done to find out whether or not you have it.
