Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The bleeding that your wife is having can be due to some retained products in the uterus or a dysfunctional uterine bleeding due to hormonal imbalance. An ultrasound scan of her lower abdomen will help in differentiating the two.
The tablet Regesterone is a hormonal tablet given to correct the hormonal imbalance while doxinate decreases the vomiting in early pregnancy.
You need to get your wife evaluated again from a competent gynecologist and get her treated according to the diagnosis.
The mild brownish spotting after a delivery at 22 weeks is normal and usually takes upto 3 weeks to stop completely.
Hope this answers your query. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.

Wishing you good health.

it is mild brownish spotting only....moreover two weeks is already over...whether we need to contact Gynecologist and confirm whether ultrasound scan is required

Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
If it is a mild brownish spotting then there is nothing to worry. This should subside in next 7-10 days without any treatment. In case the bleeding increases then she should consult a gynecologist for an ultrasound scan.
Hope my answer is helpful.

hello doctor,

Thanks for your clarification.

The following tablets are prescribed for 3 cycles (first 20 days from the start of cycle).

Registerone & Doxinate

whether it is necessary to take ...and tell me whether these tablets have any side effects...

My wife is taking tablets from 6th Feb 2013. Premature delivery was happened on 29 th XXXXXXX 2013...

when next cycle will happen?

Answered by Dr. Rakhi Tayal 10 minutes later
Since your wife is taking the tablets from 6th february for 20 days, she will have her periods on around 28th february after she stops taking the pills. Doxinate is not needed if there is no vomiting.
Both the medicines are safe and are associated with minor side effects like nausea, headache, leg pains, weakness, etc.
There is no need to repeat it for next cycle if there is no irregular bleeding after this cycle. She can start with iron supplements to combat the blood loss.

Hi Doctor,

In continuation with the above reference, i would like to ask you some more doubts.

as i have already explained you , As my wife is taking below tablet since feb 6th 2013 onwards as per doctor advise.
Registerone & Doxinate..

Still the bleeding is continuing..we had approached doctor on 14th feb and doctor advised to take SCAN and we took SCAN and it was found normal as per doctor and again they have suggested GYNOVIT Syrup along with the above two tablets and my wife continued with above prescription and till 18 th Feb there was only mild brownish spotting . but Yesterday (19th Feb) morning on wards my wife has got an abdomen pain... Bleeding has started increasing slightly (not very high). and it is under control.

As of now no pain for my wife....

again today we have approached a doctor for clarification and she has asked my wife to stop those tablets which she has taken so far and suggested to take following tablets now.
Zincovit & Hobocol (Calcium carbonate) along with protin X powder..

Can you pls suggest what should we do now....shall we continue with prescribed tablets..and when she will be normal..

we would be very grateful if could help in this cocern...

The medicines that your wife has been prescribed now are only to maintain good lactation and a general well being. These are not likely to help with the bleeding she is having. You can wait for next 4-5 days for the bleeding to subside spontaneously.
In case the bleeding continues then she needs a proper hormonal treatment from a well qualified and competent gynecologist.

Thanks for ur clarification doctor.
Since my wife has taken regesterone tablet for the past fifteen days (premature delivery was happened exactly 23 days before) and now she has stopped tablets as per doctor guidelines from today.

Whether will it create any problem since this regesterone tablet is harmone related.

Kindly clarify.

Answered by Dr. Rakhi Tayal 7 hours later
Stopping the regesterone tablets can increase the bleeding that she is having now. It is not likely to have any effect on her next cycle.
She can wait for a few days for the bleeding to subside.

Hi doctor,

Thanks for ur clarification.

Whether it is necessary to take regesterone after the prematured delivery.

When can we expect her next periods?

Answered by Dr. Rakhi Tayal 19 minutes later
It is not necessary to take regesterone after a premature delivery.
Her next periods are expected after one month from now.
