Having Baldness. Using Minoxidil And Alpecin Shampoo. What Are The Side Effects?
Question: sir,
i am 34 year old male baldness starts in front and top. i am using minoxidil 5% at night only and now start to use in morning Alpecin c1 shampoo.i didnt see any improvement. is this right combination or not?this combination will create any side effects? or may i use minoxidil in twice in a day? how long time need between to use alpecin and minoxdil?will minoxidil affect sperm count or sexual activities or bladder function? .i hve many confusions.i am taking tabs for prostate relaxation for cystitis-urinary problem. pl answer it.

Male pattern baldness is related to sensitivity of hair follicles to male hormones.The hormone causes reduction of follicle leading to hair fall.
Gold standard treatment of male baldness is minoxidil.Minoxidil increases blood supply to hair follicle and supplies nutrients and oxygen to hair follicle. This causes new and strong follicles leading to thick hairs.
Alpecin is a new product containing hair proteins essential for hair growth. It has also got good results.
So you are on right way; only thing you have to remember is - it will take minimum 6 months to get adequate response. In fact there may be more hair fall once you start treatment for few days. It is a normal phenomenon and you need not to worry much about it.
There is no need to apply minoxidil twice daily. Just use it once daily at night.
Minoxidil does not act on hormone directly, so there will be no interference with sexual activity, sperm count and bladder function. Stay relaxed.
You can continue your treatment for urinary problem under the guidance of your doctor.
So only thing in hair treatment is to have patience and faith in your doctor.

thank u for your answer. i have some doubts. how long time may i use minoxidil and what are the side effects of minoxidil long term usage?now i am using minoxidil 5% when should i increase percentage level of minoxidil. i read minoxdil and alpecin caffeine shampoo are work in different ways. i ask once again, is this combination safe?

Minoxidil has to be continued lifelong to avoid fall of hairs which are grown by minoxidil.Otherwise hair will start falling again.
Since it is applied topically only it is generally safe.propylene glycol used in the preparation can cause slight irritation causing mild folliculitis.Some minoxidil foams are available in market which can reduce this side effect,you can discuss it with your doctor. Other side effect is growing of excess hairs in unwanted parts of body,Proper application methods can reduce this side effect.
Your doctor will decide increasing percentage of minoxidil and he will decide it by seeing your response to 5%.So do not increase percentage on your own decision.
Many dermatologist routinely prescribing alpecin and minoxidil ,so this combination is safe and need not to be worry much about it.
