Hi and welcome to XXXXXXX
there are several possible causes but varicose veins are the first thing to think of. This condition often cause legs swelling in females and I think this is problem in your case especially if there is insufficient saphenofemoral junction. It should be evaluated by Doppler ultrasound of legs.
Of course there are other systemic causes such as heart and kidney disease so if you have problem with these it could be the reason.
secondly,it there can be some localized disease such as infection, arthritis, lymphedema or insect bite but there would be redness, pain and swelling in this case.
Varicose veins can be managed surgically or by various other methods. Till you decide to perform some of these you should avoid long standing, avoid salty food, lose weight if overweight, avoid inapropriate shoes. Also put elastic socks and compresses and keep your legs elevated while sleeping. Wish you good health. Regards
