Have Recurring Proteus Mirabilis In The Vagina. Any Natural Remedy?
Question: I have recurring proteus mirabilis in the vagina. Is there any natural remedy. Antibiotics make me so weak. Thank you.
Since I wrote this question, and Dr XXXXXXX replied the proteus mirabilis has not gone away. In the meantime my family Doctor has been prescribing antibiotics for me.
A total of 40 days two a day in form of tablets and injections.
I got to day 31 and I was so very weak I couldnt even brush my hair or leave my bedroom. I was taken to Emergencies. At first they thought I had had a heart attack .. but my heart is fine. They did as you can imagine many tests and came to the conclusion that I had been prescribed too many antibiotics.
Since then I have been resting, taking care to eat a healthy diet, taking vitamin C plus other vitamins. I continue weak .... but the worse. They have just tested me again for proteus mirabilis in the Vagina and it is still there.
I am very careful, and always have been with personal higene, seperating the two sections genital and anal. I have not had sexual relations since my divorce 10 years ago.
It is an ache like a light period, with lower backache as well.
My same family Doctor has now given me ovulos Blastoestima. The first one tonight.
I have vitiligo and my immune system seems to act against me.
I would also add she has also given me this week statins ( simvastatina 40mg) as my cholesterol is high. It worries me that maybe the overprescribed antibiotics are still in my system and now we are adding statins. In emergencies they said not to trust the analisis that day as the antibiotics could have affected the results. I am due for another next week.

1) Take balanced diet with anti-oxidant supplements like Vitamin-E or C enriched food stuff, Selenium, Zinc, Lycopene etc. Drink more water (2.5-3 lit/ day) or take cranberry juice to flush body toxin.
2) Restore normal vaginal flora & PH by using available products like RepHresh Pro B or vaginal gel etc. It is very much essential to combat recurrent bacterial infection.
3) Take natural antibiotic like Horseradish root, Echinacea, Bear berry leaves, Goldenseal etc. These have great role in restoring body immunity and prevention of vaginal & urinary infection.

I would like to know how long you think the antibiotics will take to leave my body, and restore my energy ??

5. I cannot have Hormone Replacement as suffered badly with endementriosis in the womb, intestines and back passage, causing 5 miscarriages and a hystorectomy about 25 years ago.
I have already explained ref hygene. No soaps etc , no friction.
I am a Reiki Master and do practise Meditation, but the severe stress I have experienced over the last 3 years have affected me.
What I still dont understand is where has the proteus mirabilis come from if rules of hygene are maintained, no sexual activity of any type, there is no odour and no discharge. This is the 2nd time in 3 years, but this time it seems to be very difficult to rectify.

1) It may take time for 1-2 weeks to eliminate effects of antibiotic from your body system. It depends on severity of your current clinical condition. However, if you start to take antioxidant supplements and drink more water, body toxin will flush out soon and you can restore your energy.
2) Statins are the first choice of drugs for primary hyperlipidaemia with raised LDL and Total cholesterol. These are well tolerated and absorbed better. Some notable side effects are headache, nausea, bowel upset, sleep disturbances, muscle tenderness etc. However, they are adjusted over the time.
3) Yes, long term antibiotic treatment reduces body immune system and results general weakness in most cases. However, I do not understand the reason behind giving 40 days antibiotic course without proper drug sensitivity test. Usual recommendation for antibiotic course is 7-10 days in such case.
4) Proteus species are most commonly found in the human intestinal tract as part of normal intestinal flora. Skin, rectal mucosa, urethral region are common habitat for this pathogens without any symptom and they become active with high PH, glycosylated epithelial cells etc. Maintenance of normal hygiene is sometimes not effective to this organism until PH is corrected.
5) I think you have taken those antibiotic without undergoing any prior drug sensitivity test and antibiotic is resistant to this organism. Therefore, it may have remained there despite the extensive antibiotic therapy. If it's feasible reculture and sensitivity test will help us. You can also follow the natural remedies that I suggested.

To be honest with you I have a family Doctor, the same one for over 20 years ..but she is very popular andd too busy. As she did not refer to my actual medical history for past prescriptions ....
