Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing to us.
Genitals, groins, thighs and buttocks are the areas that are usually dark in comparison to our other body parts.
The reason for the same is friction, sweating, shaving, dryness, weight gain etc.

I would advise you not to use melalite forte cream over these areas as it can sensitise and irritate the areas and can cause further darkness.
Instead you may follow these suggestions to lighten the areas.
Wear loose cotton clothes
Avoid fragrant soaps, harsh chemicals and use of depilatory creams
Use a mild scrub to exfoliate the area once in a week and use a loofah daily for normal exfoliation
Moisturise the area daily, use Xerina cream( its a good moisturising cream with lactic acid and Glycolic acid ). It will not only soften the skin but also reduce pigmentation of the area
Instead of using melalite forte, use melalite xl cream in night over buttocks and thighs. It contains hydroquinone 2 percent along with tretinoin and steroid cream. It is mild but should not be used over penile area. Along with this use kojivit cream in morning over dark areas as its mild it can be used over penile shaft.
Also take vitamin c supplements.

Hopefully in a month, you will have desirable results. Melalite XL is a strong cream and should not be continued for more than a month. Kojivit can be continued for prolonged periods. But if in case, there is any irritation, redness or burning kindly withhold all medications.

Hope that answers your query. Take care.

hi
But u havent say what cream should i apply on penis to make lighten?Mild scrub means please say any good mild scrub name???

Answered by Dr. Kalpana Pathak (50 minutes later)
Hi XXXXXXX
Kojivit is a mild cream and can be applied safely over penile area externally but if with any product burning, irritation or redness occurs, discontinue use.

Mild scrub includes use of chickpea flour or oatmeal with rice flour or market preparations like everyuth, lotus products that offer mild walnut or apricot scrubs. Use once in a week over thighs and buttocks. Use of any abrasive product over penis is not advised.

Hope that answers your query.
Take care.

Hi,
Genitals are usually darker than rest of the body. Do not be over zealous with treatment. Application of kojivit cream is enough to lighten the area.
As I said no abrasive product should be used over penis, so obviously use of scrub is not advocated over genitals ie do not scrub genitals.

No time frame can be suggested as to when the lesions will lighten as that depends upon the depth of pigmentation. However in a month, you will notice good response.

Shaving is better than depilatory creams or hair removal creams as these creams too can cause irritation and pigmentation. But make it a point to shave the area only after applying soap or foam to prevent friction and cuts. Use a washcloth or loofah to exfoliate the area mildly prior to shaving. Always use a new blade to shave the area. Make it a point to trim the hair first prior to shaving. All these will ensure proper shaving of the area without any nicks, cuts or chances of infection.

Hope that answers your query.
Take care,

Hi XXXXXXX
You may use any mild body wash or soap. If skin is dry you may use dove or hidrate or venusia or cetaphil soap bar or body wash.
If skin is normal use pears.
If you feel that your current body wash moistcare suits you well, you may continue with the same.

Body moisturiser- if skin is very dry use cetaphil restoraderm over whole body. If skin is normal you may use any moisturiser for normal skin like vaseline or nivea body lotion.
Apply Xerina cream as I suggested earlier over dark rough areas( feet, buttocks, knees, elbows, thighs etc)

Hope that answers all your queries.
Take care.

Hi
Loofah can be used daily
Use scrub once in a week
Oilatum cream is a good cream, it does not darken skin and hence can be continued.
Use kojivit cream in morning and melalite in night to reduce axillary pigmentation

Hope that helps
Take care

Hi,
You can use sunscreen from neutrogena for body.
For face use suncote or photoban aquagel or suncross aquagel or shadowz sunscreen.
Always apply sunscreen half an hour prior to going out. You can also blot the excess oil from sunscreen by dabbing or blotting your face with tissue half an hour after sunscreen application.
Hope that helps.

should i use xerina cream after bath and kojivit along with xerina ?
Lotus only offer face scrub as i know please give name some costly and effective body scrub.
Is penile area need to be moisturise daily?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Kalpana Pathak (45 minutes later)
Hi
loofah is just a wash cloth , so can't be available in flavours.
Penile area does not need moisturisation
lotus face scrub can be used as a body scrub and it will be mild for skin too
xerina is too be used to moisturize thick skinned areas and apply kojivit after a gap of one hour or so.
hope that answers all your queries
