Question: hi iam a 27 year old women ... recently i had unprotected sex but had periods on d same day and have taken contraceptive pill within 24 hrs of unprotected sex. I had blood test done which has high ESR level .. what are the chances of pregnancy ?

Thank you for posting your query.

The fact that you had periods after sex ensures that you would not get pregnant. Moreover, you have taken the contraceptive pill also within 24 hours. So, there is no need to worry regarding the chance of pregnancy.

ESR is a non specific blood test, which is usually elevated in infection. In case you develop fever, it may be important, otherwise, it need not be given much importance.
