Had gestational diabetes while pregnancy. 9 month baby having blood sugar of 7.8. Is this normal?

The normal range of fasting blood sugar is 3.5 to 6.0 mmol/L.

Thus if 7.8 is fasting blood sugar, it is high.

Gestational diabetes can occur during pregnancy, but it is not transmitted through heredity, but if father has type-1, son is predisposed to it.

Please consult a pediatrician for proper evaluation and treatment(if required).
