Fizzing Sensation In Head. Pain In Shoulders, Neck And Head. What Problem Do I Have?

default
Posted on Fri, 20 Jul 2012
Question: For a couple of weeks I'm getting repeated feelings of 'fizzing' in my head, almost as if it's going to explode. Tension in the shoulders and neck and head. I think it's stress related, but I'm not consciously stressed - however, it only happens when I think about work or travel etc. Not when I'm just sitting relaxing.
I don't know if it IS 'mental health' or a physical problem - my blood pressure goes up when I'm anxious, but is fine otherwise

Hi,

Thanks for your query.

The symptoms you mention are very typically seen in tension headache.

Well, such symptoms to appear it does not need for the person to have noticeable stress. This happens when the ones threshold for such a physiological derangement is reduced.

Tension headache is very commonly seen in middle aged females, also sometime this can be attributed to anxiety or stress caused by any other health conditions.

This type of headache is well treated with Antianxiety medications.

Do discuss the above with your treating doctor and get a prescription for the same.

Wish you good health.

But I don't have a headache, just a strange feeling - as I said, 'fizzing' and sort of numb and my vision is affected. I paid for advice from this site because I don't have a 'treating doctor' - or else I wouldn't have wasted money.
Please could I have a reply from someone who can write proper English?

Hi,

This is Dr Arva from XXXXXXX

We regret over the fact that the previous post did not satisfy you.

The symptoms you mention do make me suspicious about it being the
Tension headache in its initial stages.

Most often, initial few weeks or months this condition does present with
dizziness and fizzy feeling. This happens due to improper perfusion in
the brain due to altered blood pressure or rhythm disturbances caused
by anxiety and stress. The vision disturbences too are due to the same.

Relaxation exercises like yoga and meditation will surely help you get a
considerable relief.

If above exercises do not help then you may have to be put on anti anxiety
medication , specially one like Zolpidem.Dosage and course of such medication
are to be carefully formulated based on examination findings and other physical
parameters.

Also such medications need a hand written prescription for the pharmacist
to dispense.Improper dosing online without a detailed physical examination
and required information could be XXXXXXX

Hope I have answered your query.

Please feel free to ask doubts ,if any.

Regards,
