Question: 1yr old child. Fever. Just began shivering. Normal reaction? Last gave motrin 5 hrs ago. Scheduled for another dose in 1hr.

Yes, fever and shivering usually goes together and this is normal reaction due to infection(most commonly viral respiratory or urinary) which is commonly seen in children and it should not worry you. just avoid dehydration(give her enough fluids and easier food) and give motrin as recommended by pharmacist.
If you notice seizures(which can be misdiagnosed as shivering), fever >39.5 or sign of dehydration( dry or sticky mouth, eyes that look sunken into the head, lack of urine dry, cool skin,lethargy or irritability, you should visit doctor ASAP.
