Brief Answer:
Yes it is possible to get a muscle pull in chest due to coughing

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

It is possible that you get a muscle pull in your chest after a bout of violent coughing. The chest and abdomen muscles can develop muscle pull due to repeated muscle contractions during coughing.

If you feel that there is a pulled muscle then please apply an ice pack for 15 to 20 minutes 3 to 4 times a day and this should make you comfortable. If pain persists or worsens then consult a doctor or pharmacy and apply any ointment or spray containing pain relief medicine and muscle relaxant.

Usually a pulled muscle in the chest recovers in 3 days.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
