Does Thyroid Cause Depression And Anxiety?

default
Posted on Mon, 16 Nov 2015
Question: Hello, I live in Ca. and just had a thyroid test with my primary physician. He looked at the results and gave me a copy. He said my mental condition (depression/anxiety) is not caused by my thyroid however, after looking at the results and doing some research on my own, I not so sure that he is correct. I don't think he is an expert on these matters.

Brief Answer:
Happy to help

Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your question.
Could you please scan and attach the copy of thyroid blood tests? I am an endocrinologist and i am happy to have a look at it.

Endocrinologist is the best person to look at thyroid blood tests. However, simple tests can also be interpreted by a general physician.

Would appreciate a reply with attached report.

Binu

Brief Answer:
Normal thyroid profile

Detailed Answer:
Thank you. The report shows that your TSH and Free T3 are well with in normal limits. I couldn't find the results of Free T4.
The test results indicate normal thyroid status and I agree with your primary care doctor.
