Does Swollen Frenulum Indicate STD?

default
Posted on Mon, 3 Nov 2014
Question: Goodmorning doctor,

I had sex with a girl (almost always using condoms but not every single moment) but at one point it was so swollen i couldn't continue without pain (i'm uncircumcised and have a short frenulum) and ten hours after it i noticed this weird rush I show you in the photos on the upper parts of my legs just below the groin, is it a STD or can it be due to something else? ( I slept with her legs upon mine for a few hours)

(i'm based in europe, italy now so i would need also to know the name of the active principle for the suggested treatments beside brands/product names thank you in advance for your help)

Brief Answer:
It is lkely to be infection of Hair Follicles.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have
unsafe sex with a girl following which you have developed rash all over your groin on both the legs.

The photographs that you have uploaded clearly shows that it is an extensive bacterial infection of hair follicles may be due to contact with vaginal secretions of your girl friend.

Please get swab test and culture of a fluid from these follicles to find out the organisms and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to .

In the mean while start taking antibiotic like Erythromycin twice daily .Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get basic screening tests for STD done to be rest assured about acquiring STD.

Hope I have answered your query. Please feel free to write if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards .

Thank you for your answer but I want to add in case it was not clear in my description, that i have nothing like this on my penis or immediately above it, and that the rush actually reduced in the space of the last 24 hours ( i noticed it yesterday afternoon and today not much of it was still on the left leg as you can see)

where should i get a swab test and culture from this follicles? should i go to a urologist, andorlogist, dermatologist or a medical tests center?

i may not be able to do much until monday, is it ok for me to take Erythromycin for the next days before any result is known?

ps. what do you think may be the reason why i felt pain at one point on the intercourse and the penis got so swollen i couldn't continue and felt pain even when touched by her mouth? just the frenulum? is there something i could take for that in the meanwhile?

Goodevening Doctor,
I bought Erythromycin may you please answer my last question?

thank you very much in advance again

Get the test done in Pathologt Lab.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up.
Please go to Pathological Laboratory and get the swab test and culture done.

You can start Erythromycin rt now.

As regard swelling and pain in penis it could be due to vigorous and rough handling of penis during sexual encounter .

Take anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily /

.It should get resolved within 5 days.

Ensure to avoid sexual encounters till it heals up completely.
