Posted on Thu, 26 Mar 2015
Question: I accidentally put clorox greenworks XXXXXXX butter hand soap on my toothbrush instead of toothpaste and I didn't swallow it. I rinsed it out with water a few times. Is this harmful - It wasn't much soap, Can I get poisoned????

Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

It seems extremely unlikely that you would have ingested any significant amount of this chemical. The fact that you did not swallow any of it is very encouraging.

I would advise that you stay well hydrated over the next couple of days. Monitor for any signs or symptoms of irritation in your mouth.

Otherwise I would not worry very much about this. You might want to discard your toothbrushand start with a new one.
