Brief Answer:
Masturbation will not cause elevated PSA.

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,

I understand your query and concern.

To clear all your doubts masturbation has no direct or indirect effects in elevating PSA levels whatsoever, in individuals who have undergone prostatectomy.

The most likely scientific cause that can be attributed to elevated PSA in the post prostatectomy period should be residual/new tumor growth.

This finding can be confirmed further with the help of TRUS(transrectal ultrasonography) with or without CT scan of pelvis/abdomen.

I hope i have answered your query at the moment,

Post your further queries if any.

Thank You.

Thanks
Do you have any diet suggestions or regime that may assist in keeping low residual psa(0.33 but rising a bit) ie zinc, etc etc

It was low for a while after the radical, has gone from0.15 to 0.34 in past 12 months

I am concerned not to trigger an increase if it can be avoided.

Does testosterone rise at any stage and thus fuel the psa tumour

Thanks again

Brief Answer:
Diet regimes have no direct benefits.

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir,

I understand your query and concern.

To be honest there are no dietary regimens that can actually control PSA levels and PSA tumor growth

PSA levels which you mentioned in the query are well within the normal limits .(Normal range 0-4.5ng/ml) this rise from 0.15 to 0.34 in your case is not significant.

Plant based diet is proven beneficial.

Tomato,broccoli,cauliflower,mustard seeds,radish,turnips,carrots,sweet potato,onions can be helpful.

Fruits like Pomegranate, Guava and Grapes can help to prevent the triggers.
Take low fat high fibre diet.
Regular Exercise will be helpful.

Even though testosterone is directly linked to growth of prostate tumor, testosterone rise per se is not related to fluctuations in psa level.

Instead PSA velocity(rate of change of psa per year) can be better indicator used to monitor testosterone induced new tumor growths.

Hope i have answered your queries,

Post your further queries if any.

Thank You.
