Should be avoided

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
yes, definitely Zerodol should not be used for long term. It can cause liver, kidney and heart problems over the chronic use.
I would recommend in such case:
1. To take Tramadol for pain as it is a relatively very safe drug.
2. Apply over the counter pain killer gels like Volini, Moov locally over the knee.
3. Get her physiotherapy done with quadriceps strengthening exercises.
4. To do hot fomentation of the knee joint.
5. Knee transplant in case, all in effective.
This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any other query, you may please ask me.
Please share my opinion with your doctor, before you act upon it.
