Does Intake Of Mucinex Help In Curing Cold And Cough?

Question: I have bronchitis and I have an inhaler. I am taking advil sinus and cold but nothing is helping the cough. can I add something like Mucinex?

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Advil sinus cold is not helpful for lower respiratory problems like bronchitis.

You can take mucinex which is good for cough and for releasing sputum. You can also take antihistamines like benadryl or cetirizine (zyrtec). Both are available over the counter. If benadryl then twice to thrice daily. If cetirizine once daily. You can continue the inhaler also.

If no improvement then consult your GP as antibiotics might be needed.

Ok my husband went to the store and bought Bendryl cough syrup sugar free. should I stop taking the advil sinus and cold? I have sore ears, fluid needs to drain. That is why I was taking the advil. Should I switch to advil sinus? as opposed to sinus and cold? Will the Benidryl be enough? (with the inhaler)

If you have sinus or nasal congestion then you can use advil sinus cold also. Benadryl syrup along with inhaler will be helpful to decrease the bronchial irritation.
