Brief Answer:
hydrocodone causing nausea

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your medical questions

I am sorry to hear that you are having troubles with your medication. Hydrocodone with APAP is also known as Vicodin or Norco and is a powerful narcotic pain reliever. As with most narcotics in the opiate class they can cause nausea and vomiting. This is due to the medication causing direct irritation to the vomiting center in your brain as well as causing decreased activity of your GI tract.

The other side effect is the agitation. Since opiates get into the brain they can cause confusion, hallucinations agitation and euphoria. This will not get better until you stop your medication.

To help with your pain currently I recommend you try Tylenol or ibuprofen. If these do not help then seeing a doctor who could prescribe tramadol or other pain medication maybe helpful.

Hope this answered your question. Please contact HCM again with your medical concerns and questions

The 7.5 w/apap are contiunling to make me sick as I have explained. I did not have the medical problems as i discribed when i was taking the 10.0 norco. Do you have an explanation as to why this is the situation ? Thank you in advance.

Brief Answer:
Hydrocodone 10mg

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your medical question.

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with your hydrocodone 7.5mg. From what I understand you were doing well with the 10mg hydrocodone but now that the dose has decreased to 7.5 you are experiencing more nausea and vomiting and vision changes. This could be actually explained as a form or withdrawal. This is not much of a decrease in dose but if your body was accustomed to the 10mg then even a small decrease can cause withdrawals. These withdrawals will also affect your vision. If you continue with the lower dose your body will get accustomed to the lower dose and the withdrawals will decrease. If your doctor were to return to the prior 10mg hydrocodone your symptoms should also resolve. This is a decision you need to discuss with your doctor.

Hope I have answered your questions. Please contact me again if you have any further questions or concerns
