Does Anxiety Causes Whole Body Itching?

default
Posted on Mon, 13 Feb 2017
Question: Hi I am a 43 year old white male that had unprotected sex with a one night stand with a 26 year old black female I met at a bar on Saturday (3 days ago). I didn't know the incubation period thing and registered online for a full STD test that I took yesterday at a local testing lab. The sex only lasted about 1 minuet and there was no other contact after that.

1. Did I go too early for a test and should I retake one even if all come back negative?
2. What are the chances or percentages of me contacting an STD?
3. I had shaved the day before and I think I may have razor burn. It look and acts like razor burn (little red dots that itch and slightly burn). Are there any STD's that after 3 days could be showing these signs?
4. Can your anxiety cause you to have symptons such as a rash or itching?

Brief Answer:
You may retest after 6 weeks.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. Let me try to answer your queries one by one:

1. You should test after 6 weeks from the exposure. If the results are (still) negative you can rely on the results.

2. The percentages do not matter. Even if it is just 1%, for the person getting it, it is 100%. So better be safe than sorry.

3. Not necessarily.

4. Unlikely. Rather a simple fungal infection is more likely to give you such a presentation.
