Does Utovlan Help Stop Vaginal Bleeding After A Depo Provera Shot?

default
Posted on Thu, 12 Oct 2017
Question: hi, i have been bleeding for 7 weeks after getting the depo provera shot.

the doctor has prescribed Utovlan (5mg) to take 3 times a day to help stop the bleeding. is this likely to work?

im worried that it is more progesterone and would make it worse..or does this type work differently to depo?

i forgot to mention that 2 weeks ago i was given a combined pill to help with bleeding. however this did not work , hence i was given Utovlan.

so i was asked to discontinue the pill and start Utovlan today.( 5mg 3 times a day)

i have taken 2 pills so far today and experiencing light pink bleeding.

Is this withdrawal bleed from stopping the pill or is it a sign that the Utovlan is working?

if Utovlan is working, how long will this take to stop the bleeding?

i am also experiencing abdominal cramps.
