Question: I have a rash on my forehead and neck (itchy). Cld this be caused by Prestiq which I started about 5 weeks ago. Also can a cold/flu last for 2 to three weeks. I am into the third week and although I feel ok (not coughing up infection), I still feel a bit heady and short breath.

Brief Answer:
pristiq can cause it, flu may last 2 weeks

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking!
Desvenlafaxine / Pristiq is an antidepressant and it can cause rash in 2 percent of people using it.And is more likely with higher doses specially above 50 mg a day or more. Topical steroids like hydrocortisone cream would help the rash.
ANd cold flu is a viral infection. It usually on average self resolves in 10 days to 2 weeks time. COuld take more. Take some antivirals like Oseltamivir and some uricosuric agent like probenecid to increase the medicine efficacy and flu will resolve. If the trouble persist seek an infectious disease specialist.
I hope it helps. Dont forget to close the discussion please.
