Does Peritol Cause Weight Gain?

Question: i am suffering from hyper sensitivity and doctor prescribed peritol capsules for 60 days.
So i want to know how to avoid weight gain by using that pills. In my research i found that it will increase weight. Please guid me

Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
Peritol is having cyproheptadine.
It is used in allergy , hypersensitivity and chronic infections (to improve appetite) etc.
It is not causing weight gain directly.
It is appetite stimulator. It increases appetite and desire to eat. So after taking peritol, patien's appetite is increased and he/she eats a lot and thus weight gain occur.
So better to control your appetite while taking peritol. And if you are not controlling your appetite then you need to change the drug.
