Brief Answer:
Other causes should be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Inability to conceive or infertility can be due to many causes in both the partners.
PCOS can be the only cause of infertility in your case, or there may be some associated problems also.
I will suggest you and your partner to undergo following tests, before beginning the treatment for conception:
1. Husband's Semen analysis after3 days of abstinence
2. Your thyroid hormone levels, prolactin hormone levels
3. Follicular monitoring to assess ovulation, by ultrasound.
4. Hysterosalpingography to assess the patency of the fallopian tubes.
If all the above investigations are normal, then PCOS is the cause for infertility. It is treated by proper exercise and weight loss, and following steps are to be taken, when the next step is followed when the previous one fails:
1. Ovulation induction with drugs
2. Intrauterine insemination
3. In vitro fertilization
Initially, weight loss should be focused upon, as mere 5% weight loss increases the chances of conception.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Please do get back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Ovulation induction

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Irregular menstrual cycles, polycystic ovaries, increased body hair growth, increased insulin levels and increased weight are indicative of the severe form of PCOS in which the ovulation is usually absent.
Primulet only helps you in getting withdrawl bleeding, it will not help in ovulation.
Clomiphene citrate should be given to you for ovulation induction and injection hCG should be given for ovulation. All this treatment should be under the guidance of an OBGYN specialist.
Ovulation induction should be tried at first, as it works well in PCOS patients for conception.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Hi doctor ,
Can I take fat loss tablets , I used to take lots of matcha green tea , Is it ok ?
I live in the uk ... And it's hard getting an appointment, as it's already had taken 2 months but I haven't got my appointment yet !...
Do u think I can try taking tabs orally , as my sis is a doctor , she recommends me to take metformin tabs . Will it be ok ?..
I had jus finished my menses , which i had got after my primolut tanblets
If I use ovulation kits ? Will it give me a proper surge detection ?

Brief Answer:
Can take metformin

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Fat loss tablets are not recommended while trying to conceive.
Metformin can be given in PCOS patients. It has also shown to improve the hormonal profile and facilitate conception in PCOS patients.
Yes, the ovulation kits can help you in detecting the timing of ovulation.
Hope this helps.
