Does PCOD Affect Pregnancy?

Question: Hi, I have a history of missed periods and on a course of metformin to help regulate the hormones. I am worried when I become pregnant, will I be able to sustain the pregnancy and be at a high risk of a miscarriage?

PCOD itself does not increase the chances of miscarriage. Since the ovaries contain multiple cysts, the chances of normal ovulation and conception are less. But once you conceive, the pregnancy usually is a normal one. You will have to regularly consult your gynecologist for proper antenatal check up.
