Hello and welcome,

If you have decreased kidney function, then Aleve, or any other NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) should not be used.

If you do not have decreased kidney function with your kidney disease, then using Aleve occasionally may be ok.

I'm sorry that has limited your options for pain medications. Please do talk with your kidney/renal doctor about pain medications that they recommend as there may be other options for you. But I recommend not trying anything new until you clear it with the renal specialist.

Thank you for your help - I am in dialysis, so will not take the Aleve again. Too bad because it worked better than the asprin or Tylenol ! Thank you....
