Thanks for the query.

ANDRIOL and related compounds are a form of testosterone and are prescribed for the treatment of specific medical conditions like hypogonadism, in aging males having low levels of testosterone and erectile dysfunctions (conditions having low testosterone levels). Sometimes it is prescribed for adolescents male who are experiencing severe delayed puberty.

Bodybuilders use these products to increase their muscle mass and energy. However it is not approved for this type of use. You may know that the side effect profile of these drug include
- Common side effects of it's use are enlarged breasts, painful erections, increased urge to urinate, etc.
- Less common side effects are hair loss, diarrhea, acne, shrinking testicles, increased or decreased sexual  drive, headache, bloating vomiting, etc.
- It can also damage your liver and kidney and cause vomiting of blood.
- It can result in decrease of sperm production and increase in cholesterol levels.

As a doctor I am against it's use for bodybuilding purpose since it is not safe and if somebody wants to use it for medical reasons, he should consult his doctor and take the product under his guidance.

I hope it helps; however you may revert to me for any further query.

Best of luck...

Thank You Sir,But Since i am into bodybuilding i have used andriol for 5-7weeks for a dosage of 2 capscules per day.I am not having problems such as enlarged breasts, painful erections. But still i am concerned about it.So kindly tell me the concerns i can take to avoid such side-effects told by you.

This medication ( ANDRIOL ) works by replacing the testosterone that would normally be produced by the body. Suppression of natural hormones made in the body is the most common side effect of steroid use. In particular, Andriol inhibits the production of HPTA or the hypothalamic pituitary testicular axis once the user stops the steroid cycle. Eventually, the body can no longer produce the necessary amounts of testosterone, leaving the body out of its equilibrium state.
You are not exhibiting any bad effects because of two reasons.
1 You have been using it for only 5 to 6 weeks.
2 The dose you are using is too small to have any effect or side effect.

Athletes typically find that in doses of less than 240mg per day (6 capsules) effects are generally not seen at all. When doses go higher, maybe 8-10 capsules (320-400mg), new muscle growth is slight to moderate at best, but no incredible bulky gains are ever reported. At this dose side effects are bound to occur sooner or later. These side effects can't be predicted and can be mild or severe, temporary or permanent.

I would advise you to stop taking it because at this dose of two capsules a day,it is as good as useless and if you take higher dose,it may cause irreparable harm to you.

Thank you SIR,I already have stopped taking this steroid.I just want to clarify that if its going to produce any side-effects.Kindly do mention about menabol, neurabol. Are they safe?I took them for the same period but the dosage was:
Menalbol -
week 1 : 4tab/day
week 2 : 6tab/day
week 3 : 8tab/day
week 4 : 10tab/day
week 5 : 10tab/day
week 6 : 8tab/day
week 7 : 4tab/day
week 8 : 2tab/day

I have stopped taking them a month ago.Currently,I am not experiencing any sexual problems but can they still be harmful?
My trainer has suggested me to take Himalaya's Gokshura.Kindly do tell me about this also.If it has side-effects ,if yes then what are they?Should I take it?If yes, then what precautions should be taken?
Kindly do suggest any other way of naturally increasing the testosterone as to increase muscle mass and strength because i do not want to spoil my sexual life just like that.
Also do tell me about the relation between testosterone level and sperm count. Do these medications lower the sperm count? If yes, then how could I avoid it?

In fact all such types of steroids are bad in long term.

As far as menabol is concerned, it is good that you have stopped it by gradually tapering the dose. In general these don't cause problem for a short time use and there should not be any effect on your sexual functions and sperm count. However if you really have concern and anxious about the sperm count, you may get the semen analysis done.
A normal semen analysis would allay your fear.

GOKSHURA is an  Ayurvedic herb for the kidneys. It is an effective rejuvenator of kidney and reproductive health and helps in maintaining effective urinary functions.
It is also known to be useful for reproductive systems and supposed to  stimulate the hormone production in the body, increases stamina and muscle energy level due to the presence of Saponins in it. However there is no scientific study or data which can substantiate this action. In the absence of any scientific evidence, I can't say anything for or against this. I would like to remain away from such drug.

As far as natural ways of increasing the testosterone hormone production is concerned, following steps can be taken...
Consume sufficient Vit D and Zinc.
Take proper sleep
Consume more of nuts, legumes, eggs, fish and garlic.
Take Vit C in dose of 1 to 1.5 gms a day.
Take sufficient amount of Vit A ,B and E.

Last but actually the best is ....
Do Compound exercises that train several large muscle groups like Power Cleans, Squats, Bench presses, Deadlifts, Chin-ups, Dips, and Military presses and you can still do isolation exercises like triceps extensions, bicep curls or chest flyes for definition but if trying to boost your Testosterone and build more muscle quickly - stick with compound exercises and  to get the biggest boost in testosterone when you do your compound exercises… Make sure you use heavy weights that will allow you to only do about 3-to-5 reps per set and you want to do about 5-to-8 sets of each compound exercise you do.
