Depression, Low Libido, Sleepy, Lack Of Motivation, Brain Fog, Vision Problems. Taking Herbs And Multivitamin. Any Thoughts?

Question: Hello,
To start I would like to list the supplements I used to take 6 days a week:
L Arginine
Horny Goat Weed
Ginkgo Biloba
Catuaba
XXXXXXX Puama
Bioperine
Ginseng
Cnidium

Switching catuaba (mon and thurs)-tongkat al i(wednesday and saturday) and tribulus (tuesday and friday). I also used to be a heavy smoker for 14 years (I will be 30 in 2 months). Then one day I smoked a bunch of cigs, drank coffee had little water and hit the gym (hard). I eneded up in the hospital with dehydration. I then started getting anxiety when I smoked so I quit. I also got a few panic attacks when in public.
It has been 20 days now since I have smoked and 23 since I have taken any herbs. I feel a little depressed, low libido, sleepy (struggle to get up now), lack of motivation, brain fog, vision seems to be weird (almost intense..tought to describe) and my erections are suffering a little.
I have been taking some herbs and a daily multi vitamin to get the anxious prbolem under control but would like to get more back to my normal outgoing-motivated-socail self. I decided to try Tribuls, Rhodiola rosea, Horny goat, Tongkat, Ashwagandha and Mucuna-Prurien and cycle each day instead of a daily intake. Do you think I am on the right track??
Any thoughts or advice are greatly appreciated.
I feel I should also mention that I also have used marijuana almost daily for the last 9 months and have stopped that as well (7 days since use) and also have quit drinking coffee (same amount of time as herbs).

Hello,

Thanks for the query.

It seems you are self medicating with lot of herbs which is not the right track to manage any condition.

Use of medical herbs / any other form of treatment are guided by therapeutic uses and interactions and hence needs to be monitored by an expert.

I understand you are trying to solve your problems like low libido, lower erection, loss of confidence, stress, brain fog, vision problem, etc., with natural / herbal supplements. In this regards what I suggest you to switch to a particular line of treatment that is advised by an expert practitioner.

I advise you to start the following Ayurveda medications and make yourself cure and confident to live a good and healthy life:

1. Ashwagandharishta 10 ml thrice a day with warm water after meal
2. XXXXXXX Makardhvj ras 1 tab twice a day
3. Tab. Mentat (Himalaya) 2 tabs twice a day
4. Kaucha paak 10 grams twice a day
5. Rasayan churna 1 gram twice a day

In addition stop smoking; reduce your coffee intake and start physical exercises.

Since your current herbal supplements have similar effects, you may take any one of the herbal supplements with the current schedule.

Hope this answers your query. Let me know if you have any other queries.

Regards

Hello,

It would be better to take only one of the herbal supplements from your current list. Ashwagandha which you are on can be continued with the above suggested medications of ayurveda.

Hope this is clear now. Let me know if you have any more doubts.

Regards,
Dr. Nikul Patel
