Hi,

Thanks for writing to XXXXXXX

Sore throat in a child should not be neglected. This is because certain throat infection (streptococcal throat infection) has long term effects on the body.

So request you take your kid to your doctor who will examine the throat and take a throat swab for culture. He will start antibiotic if he feels required.

Hope this helps.

Take care.
