Hello,
thanks for the query.

They are two possible causes that could explain your daughter's condition from the info you have given; Impetigo or Atopic dermatitis

Impetigo is a bacteria infection of the skin which is highly contagious and will spread to other parts of the skin. It present with dripping wounds, that are ulcerating or with blisters and may be itchy or painful. Treatment includes;
-regular cleaning with antiseptics,
-avoiding to touch rash not to further contaminate the wound or other skin parts
-Topical antibiotic creams such as neomycin to be applied twice daily as well as oral antibiotics could be used.

Atopic dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin in predisposed people. People who are predisposed have a family history of asthma, allergic conditions, hives etc. Atopic dermatitis particularly occur n both sides of the body especially on flexion areas such as elbow, behind knees etc. It present with itch and could be dripping. It is seasonal and usually re-occurs. Treatment options include;
-topical steroids
-anti-histamines
-use of antiseptic to clean and prevent infection.
Generally, most skin conditions clears off after home skin care. However, persistent skin conditions warrants a medical evaluation.

Hope this answers your query. If you have further query, i will be glad to help.
Best regards

Hello,
thanks once more for the query.

Other possible diagnosis could be a
-pyo-dermatitis or non collected abscess which could be bumpy, tender and warm
-Psoriasis which will appear as scaly bumps with a reddish base.

However, the above are just hypothesis and the diagnosis with certitude can only be made after physical examination.

Hope this answers your query. If you have further query, i will be glad to help. If you do not have further query, you could close the discussion and rate the answers.
