Thanks for your query.

Abdominal pain is commonly seen in children around your son’s age and is often caused by changes in eating and bowel habits. In most cases abdominal pain may not be serious.

The pain in stomach can be due to number of causes and commonly seen are stomach flu, constipation, worm infestation.
Serious causes of abdominal pain in children like appendicitis or problems with the intestines are not seen frequently.

So please let me know if your child has any associated symptoms.

-Is he having fever, increased frequency of urine?
-Is the pain severe or mild?
-whether the pain is constant or coming in spasms or bouts?
-Where in abdomen does he have pain?
-Does he feel nausea or has had vomiting associated with pain?

Please revert back with the answers to these to help you better.

Take care.
