About thyroid pathologies:

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!

I can understand your concern regarding to your wife's health.
The treatment of thyroid problems depends on the pathology.

There is no enough information provided by you, anyway, if she is diagnosed with hypothyroidism (under active thyroid) the treatment consists in taking levothyroxine for life, but the dose should be adjusted according to TSH level.

If she has hyperthyroidim (overactive thyroid), usually the oral tablets are suggested for 6-18 months period and than thyroidectomy or radioactive iodine is indicated.
This is a general infomation regarding to the most common pathologies of the thyroid gland.

Will be a pleasure to help you in more details if you provide more information regarding to her pathology.
Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta
