Can The Use Of Macgest Tablets During Pregnancy Harm The Fetus?

Question: My wife is taking macgest sr 300 as recommended by her doctor because of spotting in initial days... Is intake of macgest sr 300 safe for the growing foetus???

Macgest is micronised progesterone. It is given in early pregnancy spotting or bleeding because it makes the uterine environment more favourable for the fetus and helps in maintenance of pregnancy. It is completely safe for the fetus as well as mother , and can be taken any time in pregnancy.

My wife is also taking duphaston tablet along with macgest sr 300. Is this tablet also safe for the foetus??

Hi dear, thanks for responding. Duphaston is also progesterone and has the same action. it is also safe for the fetus.
However, there is absolutely no need to take two different progesterone preparations at the same time.
