Can Sperm Mixed With Urine Cause Pregnancy?

default
Posted on Sat, 23 Aug 2014
Question: This is a pregnsncy related question. I used the toilet to urinate ( sitting down on the toilet seat ) I am from uk England.
Now if I get some urine on the toilet bowl and the urine is mixed with semen as I had ejaculated the night before, then my sister uses the toilet straight after I finish, could she get pregnsnt if her private touches the toilet bowl which had the urine/semen? As I'm aware even after you ejaculate, it takes 2,3 utinations to flush out sperm in urethra. So this is my main question. If my sister went in the toilet straight after me, and her private touched the part I urinsted, is there a chance of pregnamcy like this? Could the sperm enter her from the touch with the toilet bowl or is pregnsncy completely impossible without penetration ?? Am I worrying for nothing in regards to this matter? I did not ejaculate in the toilet , just urinated? Ejaculation was 15 hours previous to this incident, I am worried about if there was left over sperm still in my urethra which could have been mixed with urine.

Brief Answer:
she would not conceive in this way

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is not possible that she would conceive in this way. Pregnancy would require the insertion of sperm in the female genital tract.

In addition, if ejaculation occurred 15 hours prior to urination and your sister using the bathroom then very little sperm would have been present in urinary tract.
Since only small amounts of sperm would have been present and only minimal amounts on the toilet seat then she would have conceive.

Her vaginal area would have been over the toilet bowl and any sperm in the bowl would not ascend to enter into her vagina in that short period. Any small amount sperm in the small amount of urine that may have been on the toilet seat would also not come into direct contact with her genital tract only her thighs as she sits on the seat.

I hope this helps

So even if we assume there was sperm as I urinated on the toilet bowl and somehow her vsgina touched the bowl ( not likely) but assuming it did, would she still not get pregnsnt ? I mean can sperm enter the vsgina without a direct deposit inside, would they be able to travel from the toilet bowl to deep inside the vagina without penetration, and just based on a brief touch between the fluid and vagina or is this completely impossible ? And not even worthy thinking about as a pregnancy risk ? Thankyou

Brief Answer:
it is not possible

Detailed Answer:
HI

For women, when sitting on the toilet, the vagina is over the hole in the toilet seat, it does not come into contact with the seat or the bowl.
If the vaginal area was any way on the seat, then would end up urinating on self somewhat.

If there was any semen in the bowl, it would have to come up and then enter into her reproductive tract in the minutes or less than she is on the toilet. This is not likely to occur. Sperm is not going to do that.

If this was an effective mode of transmission and conception then many women who use toilets also used by other men would conceive.

This has never been shown to occur.

Hope this reassures you

So to clarify, sperm
Cannot enter the vagina from a surface and even if vsgina touched the bowl (assuming) , pregnamcy would not occur? So I have absolutely nothing to worry about in this situation

So to finalise this matter sperm needs to be directly deposited into the vagina for pregnsncy to occur and even if the vsgina touched the fluid , pregnamcy would simply not occur. Is this correct
doctor
Answered by Dr. Michelle Gibson James (39 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
no chance

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Yes, this correct. The chance of contact with sperm would be very very low and even if contact did occur , it would be a very very small amount.
In addition since it is not inserted into the vagina, there is no chance of pregnancy.

Therefore possibility of pregnsncy from this is non existent and impossible without a doubt ?

Brief Answer:
no chance

Detailed Answer:
HI

Yes, the possibility of pregnancy is non existent.

There is no chance that your sister would have become pregnant due to any contact with the toilet even if it had a small amount of semen present.

So it's impossible for sperm to enter vagina and cause pregnsncy without full intercourse? The touch with the fluid would pose no risk of pregnsncy whatsoever ?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Michelle Gibson James (5 hours later)
Brief Answer:
no chance of pregnancy occuring

Detailed Answer:
HI
