Brief Answer:
Worms do not affect the fertility

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Pin worms are not responsible for infertility.

I would have liked to see your ultrasonography reports and the images. Would you please upload them?

Have you undergone any other investigations? If so please upload the reports.

You need to evaluate your egg formation by :
1. Study of the uterine lining or
2. Blood evaluation for hormones: HSG, LH, Prolactin, Oestrogen & Progesterone
3. Ultrasonography (with ovulation monitoring).

Also please get your husbands semen examined in the laboratory after 4 days abstinence.

After you upload all these reports, we can definitely discuss about your problem in details.

Till that, this will take care of your immediate query. For any more information, I am always available for you, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Albendazole is the medicine of choice.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

I do believe in you that the laparoscopy reports are normal and your husband's semen analysis is within normal limits. In fact in these investigations, there are so many aspects to be seen; however, I do believe that they have been assessed by your Gynaecologist and have found them within normal range.

Still the question of egg formation remains unanswered, particularly at this age of 43 years, the egg formation is quite irregular or many a times affected. If you are willing to share with me, we can find out the status.

I thought that you have posted your query for some guidance in conception. However, if you are only interested in knowing about the treatment for your pin worms or also known as thread worms, it is very easy. Albendazole is the medicine of choice.

Now your question about its compatibility with the injectables you are taking is absolutely valid; however, you have to share with me which injections you are taking so that I can opine on whether Albendazole is compatible with it or not. So please share with me the relevant information.

Though this medicine will get rid of the worms, you have to take care to avoid reinfections:
1. Avoid going barefooted. Do not share the foot wares.
2. Cut the nails short.
3. Always wash your feet and hands - the later particularly before eating. XXXXXXX these worms infestations are related to personal hygiene. You have to be very careful.
4. These infestations are commonly found in servant dependant (particularly cook) families. Hence, checking of the servants and deworming them regularly, if indicated is a key for our own health.
5. Those who are doing regular hoteling are also vulnerable for worms infestations.
6. It is always advisable to check the stools regularly for worms and get treatment if needed.

At present with whatever information you have shared, I have given you the best possible advice. For any more information, I am always available for you, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Deworm the family | Get Ovarian reserve estimated

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

So you know that the worm infestation runs in the family. I always advise that deworming should be done in entire family simultaneously. Please try to find out what was the source of infestation for your young daughter. Must be from the schoolmates as is usually the case.

You are on FSH and hCG products for induction of ovulation. These medicines (injections) do not have any adverse reactions with Albendazole. You may safely take it.

The infertility cases are investigated mainly on following parameters:
1. Whether the eggs are forming normally and regularly
2. Whether the genital tract is patent which will facilitate the sperms to reach the egg
3. Whether the sperms are normal in the semen - in quantity and quality

Considering your age, there is a high possibility that many eggs could be aged and chances of abnormalities in the baby increase many fold. Hence you have to take a thoughtful decision of pregnancy at this age. There are some tests like estimation of Anti Mullarian Hormone in the blood and Antral count by ultrasonography which are useful for assessment of the eggs in the ovaries(Ovarian reserve). However, these test reflects only on the ovarian results, they do not inform about the quality of the ova present in the ovaries. Your Gynaecologist might guide you in that. Then if the results are good, you may attempt pregnancy with your own ova. However, if the results are not favourable, you may think of going for the donor egg. The chances of getting a good quality ovum increases with the donor egg of young girls.

I hope this information will guide you in both your problems - worms and infertility. However, if you want any further or more information, please do not hesitate to ask me; I am always available for you, XXXXXXX

If you are satisfied and happy with our conversation, you may kindly post a review with 5 star rating for me.
