Can One Get Addicted To Spasmo-Proxyvon?
Question: hi Doctor, I see bundles of Spasmo proxyvon blue colour tablets in my husband's bag. he says doctor has prescribed it for stomach ache before our marriage. It has been 10yrs of our marriage now & he still have them. I dont know how many tablets he takes in a day. he says he takes only when he has pain. I need to know if he is taking it as addiction or really as a medicine as he says. I cannot see any symptom. His behaviour is normal when he is home. How to know if he is addicted?

Taking spasmo proxyvon for more than 10 years for stomach pain seems a bit unrealistic. One generally does not have stomach pain for so long unless there is any chronic illness. But you have also said that you dont see any obvious symptoms. Plus let me tell you, spasmo proxyvon is quite commonly known for its physiological and more commonly, psychological addictive effects.
So from your history, it seems like he is addicted to the drug. Confirmation of that is very difficult unless you find out ingestion of tablets or he admits it himself.
But it is necessary to get him out of the addiction very cautiously as spasmo proxyvon has many side effects as well as the withdrawal effects are there too on stopping the drug.
I would suggest you to take him to a doctor.

Zanocin OD contains ofloxacin which is an antibiotic and it is used to treat lower respiratory tract infections, urinary infections and sometimes genital infections.

Hence, if one is taking it in some quantity for a long time, he can be said to be addicted but he wont show any symptoms.
Spasmo proxyvon contains paracetamol, dicyclomine and dextropropoxyphene. The last one is an opioid and the addiction or dependence is mostly because of that. Apart from it, in chronic use, it might lead to headache, hallucinations, dizziness, mood swings, drowsiness, gastrointestinal upset etc. I am afraid that it is dangerous.
