Question: is it safe to apply Vicks Vaporub to infants aged 6 months? my daughter had caught cold and has little cough too. Please suggest. Thanks.

Usual vicks vaporub should not be used in children below 2 years of age due to the side effect of its ingredients like camphor and menthol.
You can use baby vaporub made especially for babies above 3 months of age.
It contains petrolatum and eukalyptus oil only.
Rub it gently over the chest wall.Don't put it into the nostrils.Keep it away from the baby's reach to avoid it's accedental oral intake.
You can use nasal saline drop one drop in each nostril 4-5 times a day for better relief.
If condition worsens that is if there is respiratory distress or baby is not accepting the feeds well consult your pediatrician.
