Brief Answer: please see details Detailed Answer: Dear madam If you are on thyroid replacement therapy (like levothyroxin replacement) and you take lesser than required amount of hormone or pill, it may lead to dyslipedemias. The decrease of thyroid hormones in body leads to increase in total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. These abnormalities usually revert to normal correction of thyroid status. On the other hand more than usual amount of replacement therapy has its own bad effects, however it is not known to cause any bad effect on lipid profile. It may cause a decrease in level of cholesterol because of increase in number of receptors in liver which absorb cholesterol from blood stream . Hope this helps. Feel free to discuss further. sincerely Sukhvinder

Brief Answer: please see details Detailed Answer: Dear Ma'm Exogenous estrogens are also associated with dyslipedemias, mainly in the form of raised triglycerides. They may decrease LDL cholesterol (up to 15%), however their use is not recommended for decreasing lipid levels because of overall slight increase in cardiovascular risk. Hope this clarifies the issue. Please do write if there is anything else. Sincerely Sukhvinder
