Question: Recent blood test shows thyroid is normal and blood pressure is continuing to go down around 144/70. I want to get off prescription meds. What is recommended decrease of these meds?

Hello,
I can understand your wish and keenness to come out of prescription medical pitons but the fact is why should you do it specially when everything is running normal.At your age,there is no point tinkering with the dosages.
The moment you withdraw thyroxine,your thyroid functions would go off the mark.
Similarly if we reduce your BP medicines or take them off,there are all the chances that your BP may shoot up and cause problem.Your BP is hovering just around the required range.
Similarly with other prescription medicines.
In my opinion,if you are enjoying good health and there are no specific side effects,then it is better to keep on carrying on with the medicines.
