Can I Withdraw Insulin Usage By Reducing Weight And Maintaining Healthy Life Style?

Question: I am 29 and type 2 diabetic. Hga1c was 13 at time of diagnosis. Now it is 5.6. I take metforming. I have about 35kgs to loose to reach the correct BMI. I dont want to take insulin soon. I am very depressed. If I loose all my weight, can i prevent insulin usage and lead a healthy and long life? I am scared of dying young.

Dear friend, greetings from HCM. I understand your concern. You are still young and definitely you need to reduce your weight and maintain it.
Lifestyle changes are very much important that too in a young diabetic. You are on metformin and HbA1c now in control . that's a great sign. With proper diet and exercise you can keep away the insulin.
Devide your meals in to 4/5 small parts . keep carbohydrates rich food stuff away. Like white bread, potatoes, rice.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, fruits, oats, milets and nuts.
You need physical exercise. Go and play . do aerobic exercise s, atleat walk 1- 2 hours a day.
Take more of proteins like egg, fish sprouts etc.
Totally avoid fried, processed and fast food stuffs . replace them by healthy boiled food.
With determination you can get use to your new healthy lifestyle and also maintain It. You will be alright.
Yoga, meditation and pranayama also will be useful.
