Can I Take Motrin For Back Pain Inspite Of Having Hydrocodone?

Question: Hi, Just some advice please. I am 45 years old have COPD. My doctor has prescribed me Hydrocodone - Acetaminophen 10-325 due to pain for a bleb in my top right lung. Problem is my hydrocodone is for my lung pain and not my lower back pain. Which really hurts. Do you know if I can take Motrin PM to help me sleep and relieve my lower back pain? I read about Motrin Pm and it sais if I have emphysema ask a doctor first.
I just don't want to use my hydrocodone for a pain my doctor did not prescribe it for.

Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

Your Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen will work for both the pains - your lung pain as well as back pain.

But still if your back pain is not getting relieved by it, you can safely add Mortin PM if you have no past allergy to it. It should not cause any harm, except maybe gastritis. So take these both medications after a meal only.
