Can I Take Lomotil For Diarrhea, Nausea And Stomach Cramps?

default
Posted on Mon, 8 Jun 2015
Question: I began having major diaherra yesterday morning. Complete watery stools every few minutes, cramping and some nausea. Went to ER 18 hours later. After pain meds, 2 large dosages of Lomoti and Zofran, I went home feeling better. Took two more Lomotil this morning but the watery stool has continued. Became heavy again this afternoon with the nausea and sweats. Feel amost as bad as last night.

They think it may be due to food poisoning. Do I need to just take more lomotil and wait or go back to ER?

Brief Answer:
Seems infectious diarrhoea

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing in

It seems you have infectious diarrhoea

We prefer avoiding lomotil, instead take a good brand of racecardotil

Take a good probiotic twice a day for ten days

Rabeprazole and Domperidone twice a day

If this does not work in another 24 hours, get you stool examined and accordingly start an antibiotic

In the mean time take plenty of fluids and if available oral rehydration solution

Hope this helps
