I understand that you were in mid cycle [ovulation phase] when IUD was removed. However I am not sure by what you meant when you said 'I am already on my period before it was due'. Did you mean that you are menstruating after removal of IUD or are referring to the menses before IUD removal.? Please let me know the date of your last regular menstrual period before and after removal of IUD [if any]. It seems that you had a bleeding for 3 days after removal. Let me explain a few things about how an IUD acts. It does not do anything to the menstrual cycle unless it is a hormone containing IUD. For a hormone containing IUD, it may cause an increase in hormone levels in the body and also alter periods. IUD hampers implantation of the baby in the uterus. As soon as IUD is removed, in a few days the uterine lining grows and becomes conducive for implantation. The hormone levels also drop for hormone containing IUD's and so if the cycle was altered and if there has been a bleeding after that [ breakthrough bleeding] then a new cycle will start. Just check if you had a bleeding after removal of IUD, how was the bleeding. If it was like a regular cycle, then it is most likely a new cycle has started now. It is difficult to predict these things, as IUD's containing hormones lead to abnormal bleeding and a perfect guess is not possible. If you do not want pregnancy, a contraceptive needs to be used after removal of IUD.
