Can High SGPT And GGT Levels In The Liver Cause Acidity?
Question: I have diabetes and cholesterol my diabetes is fasting 142 and after food 218.
my cholesterol reports are normal.
my kidney function test reports are normal.
my liver function test report show high sgpt and ggt.
the main health issue as I go for motions 4 to 5 times a day but the motions are not watery whenever I eat food oily or boil I go for motions.
There is too much acidity There is pain in the middle and the lower abdomen from the middle abdomen till the mouth acidity blocks me again and again I get many burps I have to eat one chapati with vegetable and wait for some time to have another one because in between I get long breaths, many burps I have to wait till that acidity gets decrease I have done my test I am uploading the reports with it. Pls advise me when vl it get cured and liver is functioning properly or not.

I read carefully all your concerns and I can say as follows:
1. Your symptoms like burping and acidity are related with GERD, acid reflux disease.
2. With regards to motions 4-5 times per day especially after oily foods, it may be related with :
-lipids malabsorbtion
- uncontrolled diabetes
3. This is why to my opinion you need to do :
- upper ednoscopy
- blood work
- HbA1c ( to check sugar level for last three months)
- abdominal ultrasound
- fecal culture test
4. Meantime you can use:
- gaviscon three times per day
- prilosec OTC
Avoid coffee,spicy food.
Use two pillows when you lay down.
