Can Herpes Be Contracted Through Oral Sex?

default
Posted on Mon, 11 Jul 2016
Question: I had a friend of mine perform oral sex on my penis for about 10 seconds and than he licked me in different parts of my body also around my buttocks and anus. After he did this I realized that in the corner of his mouth near the cheek he had a red cut like area. He does not speak good English so he was not able to understand what I was asking him about. I could not tell if it was herpes of the mouth or if it was chilitis. I am wondering if I might possibly have had potential of having herpes spread to me through this quick contact

Brief Answer:
low risk for herpes

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You are concerned that you may have contracted herpes from a sexual partner. The risk here is very low as the lesions on his mouth do not sound like herpes and the contact was minimal. It would take a longer amount of contact from prolonged kissing to be able to transmit herpes. I can reassure you that you will not get herpes from this encounter

I hope I answered your question. Please contract us again if you have any additional questions
