Brief Answer:
no heavy periods are not indicative of pcos

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM,

Menorrhagia is not a criteria for PCOS , But oligomenorrhagia can be where menses are delayed and the delayed menses can be heavy. The criteria for establishing PCOS are :-
1. Clinical hyperandrogenism - HIrsutism, acne, acanthosis nigricans.
2. Oligomenorrhoea.
3. Polycystic ovaries on ultrasound pelvis.
4. both sided ovarian volume more than 10cc.
5. Anovulatory cycles
