Question: If i went to the urologost for a follow up on my bactearial prostitis and he checks my urine sample for bactearia would he discover if there were any bactearia from an STD or any bactearia at all? Urine came back fine just wondering if they check that when looking for bactearia

Brief Answer:
Routine urine test may not detect bacteria.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have been treated for Bacterial Prostatitis and your follow up routine urine test did not reveal presence of any bacteria.

In bacterial Prostatitis one may not find bacteria in urine as they are confined to prostate gland .The only confirmative test to trace bacteria in bacterial Prostatitis is to do culture and sensitivity of Urethral discharge obtained after doing digital Prostatic massage.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,
I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
