Can Eczema Cause White Patches On Skin Once The Redness Has Gone Away?

Question: Hi can ezcema cause white patches on a 4 month old skin once the redness has gone away ? He has brown skin and he now has white patches on his chest, face and legs and in the creases of his arms and legs once the redness has cleared. I am desperate for answers !

Hello dear,
thanks for the query.
Ya eczema can cause hypo pigmentation.
It is called as post inflammatory hypo pigmentation.
Dont worry soon his skin will regain back its colour.
In neonates even fungal infections are common which present as hypo pigmentation.
If possible please upload a photograph. This will help me in giving a closer diagnosis.

Hello dear,
Thanks for the photograph.
Don't worry at all , it is just a post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.
Soon he will be fine. For now just apply some moisturizing cream.
No specific treatment is required.
