Brief Answer:
Yes, he needs proper treatment and will be alright if not so serious issue!

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for consulting and your trust in HCM means a lot to me as a Physician.
I have completely reviewed your health query, and well realize all those concerns. Being your physician, I will take care all of them today and will extend my expertise to solve the problems.

I feel sorry for the situation your dad has to face. Stomach ulcers are actually the denuded inner surface of the stomach that often bleeds too and patient may have blood in vomiting.

You need not worry as this is the perfect step to take as to take him to the Physician for proper care. He will go for his blood tests to see his hemoglobin levels to see if he has anemia and needs blood transfusion or other supplements like Iron or Folic acid.

Then the Physician will have to go for a GI Endoscopy in which we pass a micro-camera inside the mouth through to the stomach to see where is the bleeding and we may also correct the bleeding there and then.

Yes he may be treated and will be fine soon but according to the cause that will be decided after complete evaluation.

Hope I answered all of your queries. Let me know if you have further clinical concerns or doubts. I will be more than happy to get back to you.
