Question: Thanks for responding to me. When he started getting sick was actually about 9 months ago because it was the time around the holidays last year. Some stomach viruses were going around school and his blood work was showing viral and he continually had diarrhea for 2 weeks. Went back to school for a week and started back up with upset stomach for 2 more weeks. Took him back in and said it was virus again. He stayed upset with a stomach ache is still having problems up to last week, it calms down at times, but has been a big concern. Everytime he went in last year, his blood work would be off and they said probably viral until he started urinating brownish color. The Doctor did more detailed bloodwork and said that it was due to an old strep infection. At this time my son would ask me for a cane to walk at times and his legs were hurting him especially knees and he had chest pains and I was constantly giving him medicine to stay comfortable with the Chest pains. I took him to a heart doctor and he said I was lucky that most kids at that point of infection usually were on two heart pills. XXXXXXX my son, valves look that there were not damaged. He still stayed sick to his stomach and like I said thid has come on back and forth. I go to a Children's clinic and his regular Doctor was out this pass month when ge was first diagnosised with strep. The Doctor I seen gave him a shoot and then put him on antibiotics. He event back for a follow up visit Monday and the Doctor that he seen at the Children's clinic was very concerned, since strep had previously been in his bloodstream and wanted to give him another round of antibiotics. He thought since bloodcount was off that he would go back to school and contact strep and and this would be very serious. He regular Doctor came back into the Children's clinic and told me if he didn't have strep anymore to not give him more antibiotics because it would just upset his stomach. Last night before bed, he was still complaining about body aches and would take hard object's I noticed and rub his muscles in his legs. He's still ache and yes he has had a cough recently that has been hard they treat. His stomach staying upset for so long has been a concern. You said if it's parasitic that usually the elevation are higher. Just asking because about 1& half ago, we went to Turkey to see the seven Church over there and this was the first time my child had traveled to this country. I did make sure that he had a hepatitis shot before we left. Just trying to understand it all and why the body aches. Can the elevation of allergy cells cause a lot of body aches. Thanks for your help. .

Brief Answer:
Allergy does not cause body aches but viral infections do

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for posting on HealthcareMagic.

Various types of viral infections often affect children and may be responsible for problems like sore throat, diarrhoea or respiratory tract infections. Often such infections are associated with body aches which are primarily due to muscle fatigue. Although allergic reactions might also be associated with such viral infections, they are not related to the cause of the body aches.

Let me know if I could be of further help and I would be glad to guide you further.
