5- PDE inhibitor group of medicines like sildenafil or tadalafil are used for erectile dysfunction(ED). One of them should be used 2 hours prior to sex. They cause headache, stuffy nose nausea and gastric discomfort like common side effects. Proper physical check-up of cardiac system should be done by a doctor before starting the same. These are prescription medicines and you need to consult doctor/psychiatrist/sexologist for the prescription.
Tadalafil is preferred in patients with blood pressure.

Considering this aspect I recommend to visit doctor for routine check-up and then take sildenafil. Overall it is safe drug in healthy adult. If any problem occurs doctor would help.

As you mentioned there is no problem in your sex life but you need enhancement. In that case I suggest following supplements for him instead of sildenafil.

He can use medicine cum vitamin supplement containing pyridoxal-5-phosphate, mecobalamin and l-methylfolate (trade name tetrafol plus)is very helpful in my patients. It has shown improvement in 50-60% patients of mine with ED. You may get this medicine over the counter as it is vitamin product.

No specific stimulating cream with confirmed evidences is available. Progesterone cream can be applied topically on the genitals to increase libido. If there is vaginal dryness Estrogen gel or Vitamin E oil can be applied locally to increase blood flow to vagina. However if you are pregnant I suggest to consult your gynecologist before using the same.

It is good that your husband does not have any health issue. Still I recommend using Sildenafil with prescription of doctor.
He can start with Caverta 25 mg or Menforce 50 mg.
